Nice reviews of me

My first blog review was from Osita. It was such an honour and pleasure to get reviews. I really did appreciate each one.

This one from KahlilaGibran aka Judefa amuses me because of our history together. I think we both respected each other as strong, independant women but we had many, many heated discussions... some public and some private (though I'm not sure how private they really remained). Still... this review is funny to me because I have a feeling that Jude tried very hard to hide her "soft" and gentle side. I, on the other hand, revelled in being an emotional wreck but I didn't take myself too seriously. These types of back and forth reviews were so much fun. :)

I'm not sure the context of this one from Medea89 but it was so sweet. That picture was from a photo shoot that I did with my ex-boyfriend.

A bit more pink and fluff from b-bear. Such a sweetie pie. Go read the rest of the post. He was so much fun to play with. :)

And this was, by far, my favourite review ever and is my featured review. This actually came true in real life. I now have one of those prints on my bedroom wall. Thank you Xineann. Love you too. xx

This was very self indulgent... but I feel truly touched by the care and concern shown by these virtual strangers that became friends. Thank you all.

Much love.

We luff groups

So, from 24 October, there will be no SU groups. None. I've got to admit that it's not that surprising as they've been trying to hide groups for ages but the older crowd still hung out there occasionally. It was fun while it lasted and it was nice seeing activity there all the time. But, as with most things... some things got ugly, some people got hurt... and a lot of nastiness could've been avoided. But it WAS fun. :)

I'm going to ignore the Stream of Consciousness trio in this trip down memory lane. For various reasons, my relationship with the group has soured but I'm sure I'll find something nice to say in another post later.
I'll also maybe do a separate post on the core forums because they were tons of fun on their own. And the drama... oh the drama. :P

But now... onto one of my small but favourite groups...
I created the Luff group with DSC501 (as he was known at the time). Luff was supposed to be about celebrating love between friends. It was lovely and fluffy and fun. This was the first post:

It was also an honour to have someone like joewalp popped in and "endorse" the group. He's famous, you know. He has a whole group named after him and everything....  :)

The group was also very special to me because it was where I announced my pregnancy. Very special. When I lost the baby a month later, people were amazing. <3

Other favourite threads was the Spam Caro one where we went on a campaign to send luff to Caro so that she wouldn't leave SU. Yeah, we're crazy like that. The Stumblers we Luff thread was where that all started. :)
And the many love poems, love songs, hugs and giggles

There was really a lot of love in that group but it sadly fell apart very quickly when my life fell apart. Some friendships lasted and some didn't. But the feelings expressed in that group were wonderful.

I will miss you luff.

Joining StumbleUpon

This is a collection of some of my posts from StumbleUpon.
From 24 October 2011, SU will be removing all html from blog posts and deleting all groups.
I joined SU in June 2006 after downloading Firefox and looking for more addons to play with.
I dont remember how I stumbled onto the groups... and I'm not sure how I learned how to blog... but I learned very quickly how to stumble like a machine. I didn't even have internet at home back then... so I did all the cool stuff at work. At one stage, I got SU blocked at my job. :)

So I've decided to paste some of my personal favourites and a bit of my Stumble Story.
These were my first reviews. Not very impressive but already indicative of what I was passionate about at the time: women's rights, astrology (and related airty fairy crap) and the internet (snopes rocks!).

I did better after this. Really.
Join me for the ride.
